The TIME course on lesson study and didactical design, held March 15 at Midtsjællands Gymnasium in Ringsted, gathered a total of 16 teachers. After an introduction to lesson study in general and to the specific research lesson, this lesson was performed live with a full 1st year class of students. The study lesson “Ringsted Hill” asks students to design a ski slope with a piecewise defined function. The course participants thus tried lesson observation and reflection meeting first hand, before engaging in group work on ideas for redesign of the lesson. The day ended with more general questions on lesson study, raised by the participants.
